WHY EMPOWER FITNESS?
Hi! My name is Arielle Johnston. I'm an NSCA certified personal trainer and certified strength & conditioning specialist.
Although I grew up playing sports here in Crisfield, it wasn't until I became a collegiate athlete and trained with the NSCA's Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Year (2018), Matt Nein, that I learned the true value strength & conditioning has for developing optimal whole-person fitness. Training didn't just improve my physical fitness; it helped improve my mental and emotional well-being too.

With a Bachelor's degree in Community Health and a Master's degree in Health and Human Performance, I am passionate about helping people of all fitness levels experience whole-person fitness through strength & conditioning.
I started EMPOWER FITNESS to create a local fitness community that empowers people, young & old, to pursue and achieve what I call whole-person fitness. The goal is to empower you to feel confident and strong through safe and structured movement while building personal strength, confidence, and social connections.
With over 9 years of coaching experience and 2+ years of personal and group fitness training experience, I enjoy working with people of all ages and fitness levels, and helping them move properly and get stronger with safe and structured strength programs. No matter who you are, training can be scaled to your level!

I stand by the claims that exercise is not just for the "athletic". It's a vital component of life that should be considered just as important to our health as sleeping or eating. Additionally, COMMUNITY is something that is often lost in our modern world. Building strength TOGETHER is key for consistency and results that last.

What is Whole-Person Fitness?
Whole-person fitness is the idea of being healthy spiritually, physically, mentally/emotionally, and relationally.

I wanted to give women in our community a space where they could come together and exercise confidently regardless of their fitness level.
These "women only" groups are designed to empower women from all fitness backgrounds to feel confident and challenged as they build strength and fitness together in a safe and supportive environment.
